Who are we?
The leadership team:
La Sha Ackerman
Mother of two amazing kids
At the co-op La Sha can be found doing anything from writing grants and teaching to scrubbing floors and replacing light bulbs. She’s as versatile as she is energetic. She is a big picture thinker with big goals who never shies away from a big project. La Sha founded what would eventually become North Georgia Homeschool Cooperative in February of 2015.
UGA Master Gardener Extension Volunteer
Brandy is the endless source of real world knowledge and experience that keeps the co-op running. There is virtually nothing that she can’t do. She is the “concrete” to La Sha’s “abstract”. She makes all the big crazy projects possible by keeping everyone on task, because she always knows just what needs to be done next! When she’s not at the co-op, she can be found making North Georgia (and the world) a better place, in a million different ways.
Likely reincarnation of Grace Kelly
Christine is the moral compass and glue that bonds the group together. She is as beloved by her teenage students as she is by the baby ballerinas. She is equal parts dedication, thoughtfulness, and caring. No one in present history has ever heard her speak a careless word. She can always be looked to for sound guidance. Aside from teaching multiple dance classes at the co-op, she teaches everyone she comes in contact with about the beauty of poise and virtue.
